This elegantly royal styled shoot in the heart of a villa in Portugal completely stole our breath away. A very chic bride and groom, they matched the sophisticated setting perfectly. The beautiful foliage on the table scape was paired with lots of soft floral colours and gold accents. The dark wood and leather combination adds a masculine touch which is offset by the delicate crystal and soft stationery. Gorgeous!

The Venue
In the beautiful region of Alenquer hides a bit of history. A visit to Quinta Don Carlos means to travel back to a different century. Simão da Cunha, the grandson of the famous navigator and ambassador Tristão da Cunha, instituted with this property, the Morgado da Cunha. The possession of this farm has remained in the same family since then. The house was restored in 2003 by the current owner, a direct descendant of Tristão da Cunha. A real treasure to discover.

When we built the mood board for this shoot, we tried to mix the royal look from the venue (which is why we chose the green and gold colours) with an elegant and more fashionable look (adding the black and white tones).

The Dress
The wedding dress had to meet these requirements too, so we sent our mood board to a Portuguese designer and she did a fantastic job creating this beautiful dress. It totally exceeded our expectations and for the groom we chose an elegant, black tux.

The Details
For the make up, we wanted something which would accentuate it all, but at the same time maintain a classic royal look. Everything on the tablescape had to be elegant and sophisticated. We mixed elements like the gold candle sticks with things like the silver cutlery and the design of the plates and cups for a more regal feel.
